About This Project
This is a student-made project that combines two passions: Formula 1 racing and Machine Learning.
Using historical race data from 2019 onwards, I trained a XGBoost model to predict podium finishes for every race from 2024 to the current season. The model considers key factors like driver performance, team capabilities, grid position, and qualifying results.
While the predictions aren't perfect, they demonstrate how machine learning can be applied to real-world sports analytics. This project serves as both a learning experience and a fun way to engage with F1!
